Project description
Spikkestad is a settlement in the countryside in Asker outside of Oslo. Here, a grey industrial site will be transformed into a lush area with approximately 350 homes, communal areas and commercial premises. The development of the site will take place in close dialogue with both the municipality and other stakeholders. Part of a larger development of the local area aiming to double its inhabitants in ten years, the project is aimed at families, young and old people.
Innovation is one of the mandatory FutureBuilt criteria, and the project intends to focus particularly on reuse, biodiversity and social sustainability. Among other things, the possibilities for transforming what is now an administration building into a residential community with social housing will be assessed.
The central location near the railway and bus station makes travelling by public transportation attractive. The local kindergarten, school and grocery stores are within walking distance. The project will connect to the existing town square with additional space and a park and aims to develop community spaces on the ground floor.
