Project description
Paradis is a new neighbourhood in Stavanger. The site, an old industrial site near a railway station, is situated close to the water and within walking distance from the city centre. This development will provide workplaces for 6-7000 people and a thousand new housing units, as well as social urban spaces, a park, and a waterfront promenade. Both the local authorities and the landowner are working to make this development a climate neutral area and it will comply with EU taxonomy with low greenhouse gas emissions. The location ensures low emissions from transportation with easy access to public transportation and walkability. There is a plan to reuse masses, building parts and materials that already exist in the area, as well as a nursery for sustainability. Water from the Hillevåg bay will be used for free cooling the buildings, and a low temperature circulation system is planned for heating.
