An urban consolidation centre pilot that seeks to consolidate goods between private logistics companies to reduce vehicle movements related to last-mile goods deliveries.
Project description
Fornebu HUB is an initiative that will centralise the logistics of goods destined for the Fornebu peninsula. It aims to develop better services for inhabitants and businesses and contribute to reduction of traffic and fewer large vehicles on local roads. The hub will be a showcase for other local councils and gather information that may be of use both domestically and internationally.
Fornebu HUB provides all transportation operators, regardless of company, access to infrastructure that is necessary to achieve the emissions targets for Fornebu. A company neutral hub makes it possible to combine deliveries destined to the same place in one vehicle. This will decrease traffic and increase the well-being and safety of those who live and work here.
